Presentation of JZJD Creative

New York, NY—JZJD Creative is pleased to present Olfactive Attractions: The Hanging Eco-Portraits of Governors Island, an immersive public installation blending art and scent presented June 3rd and 4th during FIGMENT NYC’s Dream Bigger event.

Olfactive Attractions is a series of scented installations constructed on Governors Island, consisting of 5 stations, each capturing the ambiance and identity of a specific territory. These multidimensional and interactive public works allow visitors to experience iconic destinations across the globe, all in a day’s visit to the island. Using vibrantly-colored fabrics scented with custom-composed fragrances, Olfactive Attractions harnesses the powers of scent, sight, and touch to transport visitors and ignite the imagination.

The five destinations included in Olfactive Attractions, while inspired by individual locations, act as archetypes for ecological habitats. With these installations, JZJD has greatly considered how best to sensorially transport visitors using the medium of scent. The colors of the fabrics represent both the scents’ ingredients and the overall ambiance of that specific habitat.

For Olfactive Attractions, JZJD has selected the following 5 iconic destinations:

Lemon Orchards of Amalfi Coast, Italy || citrus, tart, bitter, juicy, aldehydic
Amazon Rainforest, South America || tropical, damp, green, aquatic, earthy
Lavender Fields of Provence, France || floral, aromatic, powdery, herbal, clean
Great Barrier Reef, Australia || marine, salt, aquatic, aldehydic
Tenere Reserve, Niger || dry, warm, woody, spicy, ambery
